final garden

today we made final garden. we made 26 garden until now. from now on, we will make latrine, clearn waste, continue english class, make kids club to continue activity for when we leave here.

trine arrived!!!

it was happy day today. we met new members who 1 korean girl and 2 american. after noon trine(head teacher of IICD Michigan) came office finnaly. we were so hapy because we were really expected to come her. after lunch we showed garden of our family of sanmiguel and dance by children and english song by children in school. she looked like happy and we too.

there was a rain today. it is not usual like today that rain all day. usually rain stops soon here.

yesterday i realized that some children can’t read portuguese even alphabet,they can’t read exactly. it is terrible! i know some children(many children?) don’t like studay. i was so. but even alphabet? one of them know only his name. he is 11 years. i want know what they are studying in school. primary school of here has class only 3.5 hour per day. of couse it is not enough. they have a lot of free time more than class. why is it happening like that situation? number of teacher? curriculum of school? anyway they need time to study. it has peti that it is teaching about culture, art, sport etc by government and us. but peti also has ploblem. children are running outside while class. and we have not taught normal subject. but they need more that.

At 8 am we leaved cacimbas to other community with children. Today was day of big event of other community. First it had soccer game. I participated as goalkeeper. The results, we lost 8 to 0. They were so well and we were so poor. After that it had puppet play that children did. And then it was lunch time. Finally we(me,yuzuru,carlos) talked a little about ourself, our activity, our hope for them.

Today we were called 5:30 by African. We supposed to second radio talking. But it’s too early. We had heard he would come 6:30. At 8am our talking time started. Carlos almost used our talking time. I talked who am I, what we are doing, and my desire. Desire are “children, please go to school”, ”people, please think about your city of problem. Especially waste”. I don’t if they understand my talk because pronunciation is not good. I think this it is so good opportunity to be know Humana and to say our desire. Next time yuzuru will talk (he couldn’t talk today because of no time)

children citizen 2009-yasuaki

today had “children citizen 2009″ in pre school at 2pm. they invited us and we participated as judgement who chooses the winner in a contest. it had sing and fashion contest. winner can get  award. i really pumped that. especially sing of girl. we chosed her as best of them.

waste problem-yasuaki

Here has a lot of problem. Education, hygiene, economy and so on. Especially waste is conspicuous among that. You can see a lot of waste around road or field.
Charles from Zimbabwe came with Anselmo(our project leader) and Francisco and other guy, and inspected our community in the morning. We showed vegetable garden of our favorite and elementary school. While that he indicated problem of waste. We already have realized but we have not solved until now. But we decided to get down to this problem since next week through his indication. We have mobilization every Thursday so I think we should do when we have this.

extended visa and met with ming jung-yasuaki

today we wake up 4 am to go police station and to extend our visa. because our visa are only 3months. it locates 230 km from cansancao. we went to by taxi. actually we supposed to go by bus but misunderstanded bus time.
we needed passport, flight ticket, copy of passport, and 67 reals to extended.
after that we went to river and swimed with taxi driver.

and then we had known to pass itiuva. this is other team’s place. we have not seen after travel. so we called on office and asked where are our friend. and then we could meet ming jung finally!!! it was unfortunately couldn’t meet with santi and sofi, but realized its not so far. i hope to see other guys too soon!!!

nowdays-yasuaki

yesterday i had my hair cut like David Beckham’s hair.

today i fell from motorbike when i lended and driving that. but it was just abration.

today we made 1 garden. it was hard work. we made over 20 garden until now. we are getting specialist to make garden.

at evening we had English class each of us. now we are teaching English song. cacimbas is “lovefool”, sao miguel is “another day”, sao miguel dos moreila is “let it be”. this songs are for next big event at 18 October. they will sing this song at big event. but they are still difficult to sing this songs.

I’m writing this blog on the house. because my vivo(internet machine) doesn’t work well in the house. it works well here. first, about my team and activity

 what we are doing:

 English class without sunday and friday, spanish class(for adults. carlos is teaching once a week) making garden(we made over 20 until today), presentation(about hygine, enviroment, health), peti(name of class. we are teaching about culture,english etc. we taught origami and telephone with string) mobirization(we mobilize every thuresday and help one comunity) show movie for children(sometimes)

 it passed almost 2 months after arrived cacimbas(same name with other team’s community but other community). i faced many problem and have experianced a lot. biggest problem is portuguese. me and yuzuru can’t speak portuguese. so i coudn’t understand what everyone are speaking and what is happening now. it made me so stressful and lonely. first 1 month, i coudn’t do what i want to do and i was relyed carlos. but now, i can communicate with them and i can do what i want to do. ofcouse still difficult to understand between brazilian’s talking and radio and TV. even communicaion between me and them is hard. but i’m trying to ask again and agan when i couldn’t understand. so i’m becoming better. and i realized that it is good to talk with children. they are all the time trying to talk us. so it is easy to talk them. i leaned alot of word from them.

 i realized that things of brazil break soon. until now, it broke a lot of things. refrigirater, bicycle, cupbord, bed(yuzuru’s), key, toilet, watertank and so on. and same time i realized that things of japanese are good. it doesn’t break so easy like that. i worry that it will destroy house next time.

 it will pass 2 month after arrived here. it means we have only 2month. so early!!! i want make good use of my day.
